The Met and some random New York photos!

Current location: NYC

The plan for today was Central Park. But it was raining when we woke up so we decided to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I am now armed with enough souvenirs to satisfy a bus load of Japanese tourists. Nothing wrong with being Japanese of course.

We were allowed cameras (no flash) inside the Met and here is a selection.

Kiss me my lips are so sexy.

Or I'll have your head.

My first Lichtenstein experience came with great excitement.

Overwhelmed with the famous Jackson Pollock painting.

The museum is MASSIVE. No wonder it is conpared to the Louvre. We were there almost all day but we barely scratched the surface. If I were to see everything I would have had to spend a week there atleast. Skipping a lot of stuff like Medieval Art, tribal African Art, etc etc for the paintings. The paintings of the Met's collection is stunning. I could go on forever but I won't. I used to read up on artists and stare at their work in books. Today I saw many of these paintings for the first time in real life. Completely overwhelming experience. I am also a new fan of Leger and Georgia O'Keefe. I never knew their work was that good til I saw it in person. Museum going is such a brilliant experience and far better than what books can give.

And now that I have the chance to post pics, here's a small selection of the last few day's highlights.

So is this Central Park?

Yes it is!

I just love how you can escape this whole world of concrete and glass and enter lush gardens (and a HUGE one too - its several miles long) just like that.

At FAO Schwarz!

A building on 5th Avenue.

Inside the Trump tower - I told you it was GOLD! :P

In SoHo on Broadway - A|X is right behind me! See the flags? ;)

Ok well that is all right now.
I have tried to post some Time Square pics but they are totally stuffing up!! WTF!!!!
So next time ;)

Adios!

Shopping on Madison and 5th Ave tomo!!
